Plant Picnic FAQs.
Quick answers for grazing boxes, deliveries, business catering, quotes, payments and your account.
What is Plant Picnic?+
Plant Picnic is our 100% plant-based, chef-curated grazing and catering range. Boxes are made for celebrations, meetings, events, gifting and easy group catering.
What sizes do the boxes come in?+
Small is designed for roughly 1–4 people grazing, Medium for 4–8, and Large for 8–12+ people grazing. These are grazing estimates rather than fixed meal portions.
Can I order more than one type or size of box?+
Yes. Mix box types, sizes and quantities in one booking. Your order summary keeps a running box count, estimated grazing range and total.
Can I choose the exact items in a box?+
Our standard boxes are chef-curated according to season, availability and what is working best in the kitchen. You can request favourites, removals or substitutions, but specific items are not guaranteed. We will contact you if an important request cannot be accommodated.
What is Custom Curate?+
Custom Curate lets you give our chef a direction — for example mostly savoury, fresh and light, charcuterie-focused or a balanced mix — together with categories and must-have notes. The final box is still chef-curated.
Do you offer gluten-free boxes?+
Yes. Gluten-free versions can be requested on the booking form and currently carry a 15% surcharge.
What about allergies and other dietary requirements?+
Please tell us about allergies and dietary requirements in writing when you book. Our kitchen handles nuts, gluten, soy and other allergens, so please review our Terms & Conditions for the full allergen and cross-contamination wording.
Do you deliver?+
Yes. Delivery becomes available once the box total reaches R2 000. Enter the delivery address during booking and the system will check the configured Plant Picnic delivery zone and fee.
Can I collect instead?+
Yes. Collection remains available regardless of order value. Your booking will show the confirmed fulfilment method and any notes from the Plant Picnic team.
How much notice do you need?+
The online calendar currently requires at least 3 days lead time, subject to available dates, kitchen capacity and any blocked dates. For larger corporate or event orders, earlier is always better.
Why can’t I select a particular date?+
Dates may be blocked because Plant Picnic is unavailable, the minimum lead time has not been met, or production capacity has been reached.
Can I book for a company or corporate event?+
Yes. Turn on “Booking for a business?” in Your Details to add company, registration, PO/reference and billing information. These details flow through to the Plant Picnic quote and invoice.
Do you provide formal quotes and invoices?+
Yes. Submit the booking request first. Once Plant Picnic approves it, the booking moves to Accepted for our team and Awaiting Payment in your portal; your quote, invoice and payment options then become available.
Can I add a PO number or internal reference?+
Yes. Use the PO / reference field in the business details section and it will be stored with the booking.
Can you cater larger meetings or recurring orders?+
Yes. Use the booking form for the initial requirement and add as much detail as possible. For unusual volumes, recurring catering or a more complex brief, message the Plant Picnic team from your booking portal so we can confirm capacity and requirements.
When is my booking confirmed?+
A new request is Awaiting Approval. Once approved it becomes Awaiting Payment for the customer. The booking is Confirmed once payment has been received or verified by Plant Picnic.
How can I pay?+
When payment is due, your booking can show a secure online payment link and/or the configured manual EFT details. Manual EFT proof of payment can be uploaded directly inside the “Pay by manual EFT” section.
Where do I upload proof of payment?+
After Plant Picnic has accepted the booking, open the booking in My Picnics, expand “Pay by manual EFT” and upload a PDF, JPG or PNG POP there. The upload option is intentionally hidden while a booking is still Awaiting Approval.
How do I get into My Picnics if I booked as a guest?+
We automatically link the booking to the email address used on the request. Your booking email includes a secure link to create a password. If needed, use “Set or reset your password” on the Plant Picnic login page.
Can I change a booking after submitting it?+
Message us from the booking in My Picnics as soon as possible. Changes are subject to availability and may affect pricing, delivery or the final quote/invoice.
What is your cancellation or refund policy?+
Cancellation and refund terms can vary according to timing and payment status. Please review the current Plant Picnic Terms & Conditions for the clauses that apply to your booking.
